A is for Alison

Alison is the head maker and builder here at A Handbuilt Ceramics in Portland, OR.

Alison has a playful style and hopes to brighten your day and bring joy to everyday life with functional art.

I believe the beauty of handbuilding is the human touch and handmade feel of every pot.

“Handbuilding is an ancient pottery-making technique that involves creating forms without a pottery wheel, using the hands, fingers, and simple tools. The most common handbuilding techniques are pinch pottery, coil building, and slab building” -Ceramic Arts Network.
